After a hearty breakfast (they always have fine camp cooks here for the HMP) I readied my camera for the helicopter landing. The helicopter will support HMP researchers in carrying equipment to traverse locations. With my zoom lens I felt a bit closer to the helicopter than I really was!

Today I interviewed the folks in the medical tent and will be editing that video in the next few days. The medical research this season is led by Dr. Jean-Marc Comtois, the Head of Operational Space Medicine at the Canadian Space Agency. They spoke happily about their rather complex plans this season for about a half an hour. I realize now why interviewers have a separate camera person and a mic boom holder. I must say though, they have great lighting in the medical tent.

I uploaded my first set up photos for the Mars Institute. They will give you a good idea what the surrounding area of the HMP base camp looks like. HMP Photo Set - July 14, 2008
This is definitely a full time job. I could use a small crew to help. I will do my best to get personal journals up here in a timely manner but it has to come after I've finished my other duties for the Mars Institute - status reports, photos, youtubing, and twittering!
over and out.
